Installation of a New Wastewater Pumping Station – From Technical Design to Completion

UAB "Ekobana" successfully completed a project to reconstruct a domestic wastewater pumping station in Nemėžis, Lithuania, commissioned by UAB "Nemėžio komunalininkas." The project, which included designing and building a pumping station with a debris separation system, was completed within six months in accordance with the technical specifications.
Project Implementation Stages
Preparation and Approval of the Technical Work Plan
✔ A comprehensive technical design was developed and approved by all relevant authorities.
Demolition of the Existing Pumping Station
✔ The above-ground portion of the old pumping station was safely demolished, ensuring uninterrupted wastewater pumping operations.
Preparation for the New Pumping Station
✔ The foundation for the new pumping station was prepared without disrupting the operation of the existing pumps.
✔ A modern pumping station was installed, complete with advanced automation systems and updated electrical infrastructure.
Installation of New Wastewater Lines
✔ New gravity wastewater pipelines were installed and connected to the existing networks.
✔ The new pumping station was seamlessly integrated into the existing system, including the construction of a new wastewater well.
Testing and Commissioning
✔ The functionality of the new pumping station was thoroughly tested.
✔ The pressure network was quickly switched to the new system.
✔ Automatic operation of the new pumping station was launched.
Finalization
✔ A maintenance area around the station was paved with concrete tiles.
✔ A protective segment fence with an access gate was installed.
✔ The surrounding surfaces were restored and landscaped.
Outcome
✔ A 50-year-old, outdated, and worn-out system was replaced with a modern wastewater pumping station capable of handling 60–70 m³/h at 16 meters of pressure. All work was completed without disrupting the operation of the existing system. The new station ensures reliable and efficient wastewater pumping, meets modern standards, and optimizes system maintenance.
