Reconstruction of a boiler circuit

KAUNAS CHP POWER PLANT

UAB Ekobana successfully completed the reconstruction of the boiler circuit at the Kaunas Combined Heat and Power Plant. Designing, equipment supply, installation, and commissioning works were included in the scope.

The purpose of the reconstruction was to install additional network pumps with frequency converters to supply the returning heating water to the boiler and maintain network water pressure after the boiler or the amount of network water passing through the boilers. These parameters are maintained according to the value set in the controller.

In order to achieve this objective, the following equipment was installed: two Grundfos TP-200 pumps (with 200 kW electric engines), each with a capacity of up to 1000 m3/h and maximum pressure of up to 95 m; frequency converters Danfoss FC-202; pressure transducers DF-65; DN350, DN400, and PN25 valves. In addition, the power distribution cabinet was reconstructed, cables were laid, and an automatic control cabinet was assembled so that the pumps could work according to the flow or pressure settings.
