Reconstruction of 110/10 kV substation Žvėryno

July 17, 2019 The first new 110/10/10 kV 40 MVA power transformer was commissioned in Transformer substation Žvėryno. The whole project involves replacing two old 110/10/10 kV 25 MVA power transformers with two new 110/10/10 kV 40 MVA power transformers and replacing old 10 kV cables with new 10 kV cables. The second transformer will be commissioned in late August. As Transformer substation Žvėryno is surrounded by residential buildings, new power transformers have extremely low noise level - less than 48 dB (A) – therefore residents of surrounding houses will not suffer from the noise normally generated by such transformers.
